Reflexión consciente Elegir paz o conflicto//Choosing Peace or conflict

Choosing Peace or conflict

Whenever we face any kind of situation in life, we have two options: to be at peace or to start a conflict. If I'm at peace, the first thing I'm going to preserve is my health. Peace is a decision that we can make at any time, and it is about an attitude that we build based on the interest, the will and the feeling of commitment. It is only when harmony becomes a priority for us that we open up to humility and to living wisely. This decision affects our physical, mental, emotional, and environmental well-being. It is necessary to understand that if I am against or in favor of something, or if I defend a certain idea, it is because inside of me there lies a judgment that is making me suffer. From our own thoughts, judgments lead us to believing that the world or the life are mistaken, and therefore, to wanting "to be right". This harms us and sometimes makes us sick. Life reflects everything just as it is, but it is us who decide to accept it, or to resist it. In order to abandon this mental struggle, we have to acknowledge that "we don't know" anything and that the real change we need lies in our consciousness. What is more important to you: to be right, or to be healthy and happy?

Relacionarnos desde el amor. La empatía y la compasión//Relating through love - Empathy and compassion

Relating through love - Empathy and compassion

In order to understand others, it is necessary to understand yourself. Empathy is the ability to understand and connect with others, to put yourself in their shoes. Compassion also includes this, however it implies acceptance and a deep respect to help the other person to feel free of suffering. These feelings unify and transform us. If we want to develope this kind of communication, we have to go beyond words and understand what the other person feels and what he or she needs, based on what he or she intends to express. By empathizing with the other person's feelings or emotions, we will feel more confident and will be able to maintain a healthy bond of communication. We really help someone, when we focus on being present by listening and paying attention (without having our personal story or opinion in mind). Being willing to listen is not only about activating your ears, you have to be available for that person. Listening is about the entire body: the other person's gaze, body language, way of breathing, etc. To relate with and from the heart is one of our best and truest tools when it comes to sharing, accompanying or helping in any healing process.

Reflexión Consciente: Gratitud, nuestra vibración de vida más elevada// Gratitude, our highest life vibration

Gratitude, our highest life vibration

Gratitude is an attitude we adopt. It arises when we become aware of who we are, what we give and what we receive. We can only understand the importance of practicing gratitude by recognizing the generosity and love that is in everything we genuinely receive on a daily basis. In the beginning it is very common to do it from the mind, so we practice it, although many times we don't feel it. But if we stimulate this feeling on a daily basis, we will come to recognize it as an essential part of ourselves and in this way we will have integrated it. For a better understanding of its meaning, it is essential to understand that it is not the same to say thank you for something in particular, like we sometimes do for manners, than to feel gratitude for what surrounds us or what we experience. When we find ourselves being grateful, we feel that we leave the complaint-mode, experience acts of greater lucidity, our health vibration rises, changes (it is potentially beneficial, as our life condition improves), remain in connection with our essence, create greater closeness to others, offer the best of ourselves, and feel expanded and confident. The only purpose and value of gratitude is gratitude itself. To feel grateful in order to live more fully.

Vivir en el presente, nuestra mayor y auténtica riqueza//Living in the present, our greatest and most authentic wealth

-Jose A. Manchado

Living in the present, our greatest and most authentic wealth

To be present in the here and now, could seem to be a difficult task seen from the mental agitation that we live daily. However, we can train it in a very simple way by integrating it in our lifestyle. The state of presence or full attention means to remain attentive and awake to the moment, aware of each instant. We escape from the stress, the hijacking of our thoughts and the everyday automatisms, focusing on the experience of the now and appreciating it fully. Like this we relax towards life, towards what we do, we perceive with more lucidity, and we re-establish vital energy and health. We develope this state through the body, the mind and the senses. In order to be more and more present in your everyday life, here are some very helpful practices: - When you walk, by focusing your attention on one part of your body, for example, the movements of each foot. - Meditate a few minutes a day (through self-observation). - When contemplating (a place, a sunset...), practicing the intention of not judging. - Breathing (observe how you breathe while performing a task). - Putting all the attention on listening (the sounds around, a conversation...).

Reflexión Consciente: Volver al silencio del corazón // Return to the silence of the heart

-Jose A. Manchado

Return to the silence of the heart

On the surface, the mind is restless, agitated and deceitful, but in its depth and emptiness, there is only peace, love and truth. Silence is the answer to who we are. It reveals the truths of the heart and the treasures of our consciousness. Creativity and great self-understandings arise from its infinite flow of life. Silence should not be confused with the absence of external noise. It is about calming the inner dialogue and connecting with the innate wisdom. When we calm down to listen and observe the mind, at first it is normal that everything is alteration and noise (conversations, images, ideas...), as this is the habit that we have maintained so far. But we can start to change it at any time, if we intend to go deeper into it. Through meditation or by remaining in contact with our breathing, it will be easier and more attainable. The more you contemplate without judgment and with acceptance that everything that happens, the more you will integrate the state of silence. Perseverance and patience are essential. Finally, when the noise reduces, it becomes a sound that no longer distracts us. We no longer identify with it. The moment we are conscious of our inner and silent observer, we experience the union with our own being.

Reflexión Consciente: El Poder del Perdón// The power of Forgiveness

- Jose A. Manchado

The Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is an act of love that liberates us from the past and from all feelings of suffering. It is the path of healing. Through this internal decision, we recover mental peace and the natural state of innocence. We transform the feelings that deteriorate and poison us into healthy feelings that repair our hearts and heal the wounds. In the absence of forgiveness, we talk about feelings such as resentment, anger, guilt or shame. If a situation or person causes us any of these conflicts, we must understand that they are actually happening in our minds. Therefore, they will produce harmful effects in our body. To begin with the process of liberation and change, it is necessary to acknowledge those things that have not been forgiven and go a step further by practicing comprehension. It is not about approving the situation or the other person's behavior, but about being willing to let go of the way we experience it so that it stops affecting us. On the other hand, it does not come from relating directly with the other, but through the heart. To forgive others and yourself is the best gift you will ever make to yourself. By correcting your perception you heal your reality.

Reflexión consciente: El cambio como parte de la vida\\ Change as a part of life

Change as a part of life

Life is a process of change in constant motion. Imagine a river where water flows. It never stops and nothing will ever be the same. Hence, the concept of "stability" is only an idea of the mind. Change is part of life and the static would be death. Whether we perceive it or not, changes are a permanent part of our present. However, it is often events that remind us of this reality and invite us to become aware of the impermanence. A vision that will help us to understand and deal better with them is that every change entails a teaching, an opportunity that opens us to a new and different perspective of things. Every event or difficulty appears to awaken, heal and transform us, leading us to develop our fullest potential. A better version of ourselves. Throughout life we participate in our changes through our decisions, but when this is not the case, and it's life that brings the changes (health, loss of a loved one, relationships, economic difficulties...), assuming these changes can be painful, uncomfortable, difficult to understand... and we experience a long or short period of crisis. As Buddha said, "Pain is unavoidable, suffering is optional". Resistance to not accepting these processes produces suffering. But even if a change involves pain, we will always be choosing the attitude with which to deal with it. We can make the healthiest, most conscious decision and contribute to our well-being. Depending on the situation and the change we are experiencing, some ideas about these healthy attitudes can be: resilience, optimism, creativity... attitude is going to be decisive in our life. On the other hand, taking the experiences of change as a learning experience will help us to stop feeling like a victim of our circumstances, to take back responsibility, to develop the best of ourselves, and over time, to feel grateful, for what that change made flourish in us and in our lives.
